When you have a big family, you will do just about anything to calm the chaos. I know. We have a family of six and it gets a little crazy from time to time. I am always looking for new products to keep my family organized and operating like a well-oiled machine.

I recently looked around and realized that color coding is our friend. I mean it looks like I use colors to keep us organized in many ways that I did not even think about. Even my cutting boards are color coded! But with kids, routine is key. So, when you are able to assign a color to them, it works in your favor. Not to mention it alleviates a ton of arguments.

Here are some of the top products that I recommend to get your family “color coded”.

Toothbrush Holder

A friend gave us this toothbrush holder and cups some time ago and we love it! It works perfectly for our three littles. Each cup has a color and that way they know which one is theirs. It also saves on buying those little paper rinsing cups. You can buy lots of different varieties of these on Amazon but here is the link to the one pictured, that we use.

Plastic Dinnerware

Assigning a certain color to each child works great at dinner time. These dinnerware sets allow each child to have “their” color and they know what is theirs. That way they are not arguing over who gets what color and they are able to go pick out their own stuff. Also, if there are certain foods one child can’t have, they know which color plate is theirs and become trained not to eat off the wrong one. These are also BPA Free!

Travel Toothbrushes

I was so excited to find these travel toothbrushes! This can also be done with toothbrush covers. However, these actually fold up, so they don’t get yucky in your travel bag, and they are colored. Every person has their own color and easily knows which toothbrush to use when we travel.

Chore Chart

This multicolor chore chart is the best! You can use the different color stars, or markers, to differentiate which child does what. It is so much better than having three or four different charts hanging on your fridge.

Supplies Caddy

These colored supply caddies can be used for various things. They are great for craft or homeschool items. But again, they match the color your child is used to having so they know which supplies are theirs. These are great when you have different age groups because the kids tend to have different supplies at various ages. For example, our older son does not have crayons in his but may have scissors.

Body Cloths

These are Norwex body cloths. I can never say enough wonderful things about Norwex. If you don’t know about it, check out some you tube videos. Basically, these are clothes that you use to wash your body with just water. They have an antibacterial quality to them and are made out of soft microfiber. Norwex is how our house is almost chemical free but, you can color code with many types of clothes just like the toothbrushes. These are great for travel and especially camping!
