Materials:

Step by Step Instructions:

Step 1: Cut your egg carton so that you have just the bottom portion that the eggs sit in. You can also cut it in half for a six pack, if you would like a smaller garden. Then cut small slits in the top of each egg holder, like below.

Step 2: Have the kids paint the egg carton brown to look like dirt or any color they so desire. It is all about imagination, right?

Step 3: Paint the popsicle sticks green for the flower “stems” or again, any color they so desire.

Step 4: Draw flowers on different colors of construction paper and cut them out. Make some leaves out of the green paper too.

Step 5: Glue your flowers to the top of the painted popsicle sticks and the leaves about midway down the sticks.

Step 6: Stick the popsicle stick flowers into the egg carton so that it looks like the flowers are growing out of the dirt.

Step 7: Use the paint to make a few details on your flowers and leaves.

Extras: They can add any extras that they want. Maybe rainbow going behind the flowers or some grass growing around them. Be creative!

That’s it! If you are looking for more fun crafts to do with the kids check out my post with three more easy and fun ideas.
