Great Reasons to Camp at Jellystone

You don’t have to have a tent or camper to stay at Jellystone Golden Valley or many of the other Jellystone parks. They have the cutest cabins available for rent. This particular Jellystone campground is nestled away in Bostic, North Carolina and it gives you some pretty awesome mountain views.

Our family has camped at Jellystone parks several times, in our camper and in cabins. Hey, we have to try it both ways! Golden Valley is one of our favorite Jellystone campgrounds and that is why we keep going back. Jellystone campgrounds do a great job in general, and our kids absolutely love them. They have so many amenities and scheduled activities. Holidays are awesome here, especially the Halloween and Christmas months.

Their prices are really reasonable considering all the amenities that they have. Check out their website for different specials that they offer throughout the year. Here are some of the things, at Golden Valley, that keep us coming back!

The Playground Area

Their playground is so much more than a playground. It has two bounce pads and a gaga ball area. Ours kids could spend hours on the bounce pillow if we let them. There is a nice little golf cart parking area next to it. Many parents hang out there chatting while the kids play.

The Pond

There is so much to do down at their little pond. In the summer, you can actually swim in it. They have a huge inflatable course and a zipline into the water. Year round there is a dock where you can use canoes and paddleboats on the pond. They supply life vests for all.

Outside of the water activities, you can fish in the pond. We have not caught much of anything yet, at this location. The fish there are smart. We have caught many fish at the Asheboro location though! There is also a pavilion, oversized chess board, swings, and bathroom located in front of the pond area.

The Waterpark

This Jellystone has a full waterpark, pool, cabanas, and jacuzzies. This area is open when the weather starts to warm up, but the kids can spend all day in there. You are able to rent cabanas, if they are available. This area sits right next to the snack shack so you can get food or drinks, as well.

The Activities

Jellystone parks know how to have fun. They have a full agenda packed with stuff to do throughout the day. From dance parties to tie dye, they have it covered. I cannot even name all the awesome things we have done while there. You may even get to meet Yogi and some friends during your stay.

Around the holidays, everything is themed. Our favorite time to go is Halloween and they go all out every weekend in October. There are costume contests, dance parties, hayrides, site decorating contests, pumpkin carving contests, and there is trick or treating. It is SO fun! You are able to keep up on their app, as they post the full activity schedule on there.

The Store

I don’t know why but our kids think the store is the destination. If offers all the Jellystone themed items, toys, some food items, firewood, ice, clothing, and candy of course. It is convenient if you forgot to pack something because Bostic is kind of in the middle of nowhere. It takes about 20 minutes to get to a local store. Be sure to check out my post with some items you should pack for your trip.

On top of all that I have already mentioned, they have basketball courts, tennis courts, laser tag, gem mining, and mini golf. I mean they really have it all and the people are always wonderful. You get to meet all different types of families from all over the place. Our kids always make new friends.

There are so many different ways to stay at Jellystone, we recommend you give it a try. Their cabins are clean, have awesome views, and can fit small or large groups. They offer a ton of different types of campsites for tents or campers. Some are even paved! So there really is something for everyone. You won’t be disappointed!
